work and holiday

Senator the Hon. Michaelia Cash (Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border Protection) has today announced a reciprocal work and holiday visa arrangement has been signed with Poland. This arrangement will allow 200 young Polish and 200 young Australians per year to holiday, engage in short term work and study in each other’s countries.

The work and holiday visa is different from the working holiday visa in that it requires the support of the applicant’s government. The applicant must also hold or be studying towards tertiary qualifications and able to speak functional English.

The Australian and Polish governments will work towards the necessary legal and administrative processes for implementing the visa.  Further information is available here.
